The automotive, health and electronics sectors employ over 40% of the workforce

In mid-2015, the following sectors of activity were the most represented among foreign-owned companies in the Centre-Loire valley region: Automotive, Health, Electronics, Mechanical engineering & Metalworking, Agri-food, Logistics, Packaging, Construction, Aeronautics, Household goods, Cosmetics, Rubber & Plastics and Graphic industries.
The Automotive, Health and Electronics sectors employ near 40% of the workforce of foreign-owned companies in the Centre-Loire valley region.


Considerable growth in the logistics sector

The logistics business has been highly internationalised since the last version of the study in 2013This industry has seen its “international” manpower increase by 36 %, notably thanks to the purchasing, in May 2015, of the logistics group Norbert Dentressangle by the American company XPO Logistics. Further to this, there is the continued growth of the Amazon logistics site and the integration of 4 GEFCO sites in the region (145 jobs), following the purchasing of the group by the Russian company JSC Russian Railways.
